What is your favorite form of Reflexology? Foot? Hand? Ear? Facial?

I am often asked what type of Reflexology is my favourite?

If we asked you –  how would you answer that question? And Why?

  • Foot Reflexology?
  • Facial Reflexology?
  • Hand Reflexology?
  • Ear Reflexology?
  • Body Reflexology?

Would it surprise you to know that my answer s Ear Reflexology – by a mile!

Why? – you ask?

For many reasons, which I list below (not in any particular order!)

Unlike feet and hands which only have anatomically related reflexes, the EARS additionally have specific points for:

  • Pain Relief
  • Lower Blood Pressure
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Weight Loss
  • Balance Hormones
  • Allergies
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Clearing Infections
  • Sexual Stimulation

to name just a few…

PLUS Ear Reflexology offers the following benefits:

  • Easy to give a self treatment
  • Fast – an entire session takes 10 minutes
  • Ears are unique like fingerprints
  • If the reflex point is sore – there is a problem
  • Quick relief for musculo-skeletal issues

My partner Jack and I loved teaching Ear Reflexology in the classroom – it was so simple and effective that students would pick up the basics in no time at all, and they loved its fast results.  The bonus was that Ear Reflexology could be used on it’s own to get great results – or used as a quick addition to a full body massage, or foot or hand reflexology.  No pre-requisites for learning.

It was out goal to teach Ear Reflexology as part of our virtual classroom curriculum, and we filmed the entire class and routine with the intention of creating an online Ear Reflexology Certification program.

There was only one problem!  The video tapes of that 2008 class disappeared!

If you read our previous blogpost about our vanishing crystals, you will know that this is not a unique experience for us.  Our treasured crystal collection went missing for over six years. We never gave up hope that we would one day be reunited with our crystals.  We found the wooden box containing our treasures that mysteriously many years previously, on the day we were leaving our house of nine years to move to pastures new. It just appeared on the garage floor – even though that room had been checked an cleared by the team of movers and packers many times over that moving day!

So too, we never gave up hope that we would find the missing videos, the five hours of precious video film that had disappeared.  Over the years we would resume the search, and always ended up disappointed and empty handed.

Fast forward – 11 years to the Fall of 2019.

When searching for some miscellaneous paperwork, Jack discovered a small box in one of the cupboards.  It was a regularly used space, and one that had been searched and gone through dozens of times over the years – but the box had never been seen before.  And now – it was just innocently sitting in the corner – as if it had been there forever!

Guess what was inside?  Yep you got it!  The five hours of lost Ear Reflexology classroom teaching and demonstrations.  Not content with that amazing discovery – also tucked in the same box was our Hand Reflexology demonstration routine video tapes – also originally filmed in 2008 – and missing for 11 years!

We could hardly believe our eyes!

Were the tapes still viable?  Remember they were recorded in 2008 – long before digital cameras were invented.  The Ear Reflexology classes were recorded on video cassette tapes and we had yet to discover if they had survived the 11 years they had been missing.

Did we even have a camera capable of playing the tapes? What was the quality like? Could we transfer the content to a digital files? Were they sturdy enough to watch and edit?

If you want to follow along with the missing tape adventures – and get answers to these and so many more questions, stay tuned and watch out for my next post.

To unfolding the mystery!
