I Thought it Was a Practical Joke!

We love crystals.  Some of you may know that we have a side hustle crystal business.  We buy and sell crystals direct from wholesalers, speculators as well as small and established mines all over the world.

We have a personal collection of beautiful, rare and exclusive rocks that we love and cherish.  Over the course of two months in the same year, our home and college head office had separately been victim to break and enter robberies, and we lost a lot of personal and business property.

We wanted to make sure that our crystal collection was not somewhere that could easily be found and stolen by criminals. So to protect our remaining “treasures” we gathered up our most prized crystal and rock specimens and put them in a wooden box somewhere “safe”.

Some time later, we wanted to find and “work” with our crystals, but no matter how hard we searched – we could not find the box.  Over the years we continued to search and every nook and cranny was torn apart and examined to no avail – our precious crystal collection had totally disappeared.

Fast forward six years!  We were on the move!  Leaving out home of 9 years and moving to another Province.  For four days, the movers had been busy packing all our possessions, furniture, appliances, clothes – in fact our entire household contents into crates and boxes.

The moving truck was filled and parked in the driveway ready to drive away.  We had a final sweep through the house saying our goodbyes and thanks to the home we had loved and appreciated through all these years, checking that everything was packed and nothing had been left behind.

The last space to be checked was the garage.

To our surprise – the garage was not empty.  There sitting in the middle of the concrete oil stained garage floor was a wooden box.  Not just any wooden box – but the small engraved box in which we had carefully stashed our precious crystal collection all those years ago.  We could not believe our eyes!

Hardly daring to believe that our crystal collection was intact, we carefully opened the lid of the box and were both shocked and delighted to see the familiar shiny shapes and colours of our prized missing rocks.

All our crystals were present and correct – and even more beautiful than we remembered!

Where did the box come from?  Who found it and put it in the garage?  We asked the movers – the packers – everyone on site and they all said – nope they had never seen it before and had no idea where it came from.

Perhaps Jack was playing a practical joke – but no! He was as shocked as I was to see it.

So where did the crystals go for over six years?

How did they mysteriously appear just minutes before we locked up the empty house and left it for pastures new?

We have a few theories, but we are just grateful for having the quartz rocks and crystals back with us to work their magic.

This had to be a one off experience?

Well we thought so until two weeks ago, when we made a discovery that blew our socks off.  Some items that had been missing since 2008.

These found items are destined to change the future course of the Universal College of Reflexology forever.

What did we find?

We’ll let you know in the next post!
