This afternoonon there was a segment on the Dr Oz show about complementary medicine and one of the modalities involved was Reiki. Dr Oz announced that it was one of his favourites. He should know as he says his wife is a Reiki Master who treats the Oz family often with Reiki and helps him with his headaches.
The Reiki guest expert was Pamela Miles, author of Reiki: A Comprehensive Guide, and a pioneer of Reiki in medical environments. She was shown giving a seated Reiki Treatment, and the audience member who was lucky enough to be receiving the treatment, reported feeling heat and energy through Pamela’s hands.
Pamela says, “Mehmet saves Reiki for the last, saying, ‘The next one I’m going to talk about is one of my favorites. We’ve been using it in the Oz family for years.’ Then he mentions that his wife is a Reiki master and that he and I worked together in surgery; then I demonstrate chair Reiki. (The audience member told me her headache improved but that’s not on the show.)”
Wow! What a great testimonial and boost for the acceptance of Reiki – which Dr Oz called the Energy Medicine of the future. He expects the popularity of it to grow and even demonstrated how he thinks it works showing the energy in a cell spreading throughout the body.
